MLB Rumors: Red Sox's Jarren Duran Linked to NL East Team

Jarren Duran, Boston Red Sox

The Boston Red Sox have had a brutal start to the 2026 season, and they recently fired manager Alex Cora as well as multiple other coaches. However, more changes should be on the way, and one player who is a prime trade candidate to watch is Jarren Duran.

With the Red Sox having too many outfielders, Duran has been the subject of trade rumors for a long time now. The Red Sox's struggles out of the gate this season have only created more chatter surrounding Duran.

Now, a National League East team is being linked to Duran during the early stages of this season.

In a recent article for Sports Illustrated, Patrick McAvoy named the Miami Marlins as a potential trade destination for Duran.

When noting that the Marlins could use another impactful outfielder, it makes sense that they are being connected to Duran. He would give their roster a nice boost if he bounced back from the change of scenery. When noting that Duran could use a fresh start at this point, it is certainly fair to wonder if he could turn things back around on a new team like the Marlins.

In 21 games so far this season with the Red Sox, Duran has one home run, 11 RBIs, and a .198 batting average. This is after the one-time All-Star had 16 home runs, 84 RBIs, and a .256 batting average in 157 games this past season.
