Orioles & Diamondbacks Complete 4-Player Trade

Arizona Diamondbacks infiedler Blaze Alexander throws the ball during 2025 game.

The Baltimore Orioles and Arizona Diamondbacks have completed a four-player trade that sends infielder Blaze Alexander to Baltimore, with right-hander Kade Strowd and prospects Wellington Aracena and Jose Mejia heading to Arizona.

Orioles trade adds Blaze Alexander versatility

Alexander, 26, gives the Orioles another flexible infield option with multiple years of team control still ahead.

Last season with Arizona, he put up a .230 average with a .323 on-base percentage and a .383 slugging percentage, adding seven home runs, four steals, and 28 RBIs across 74 games, good for a .706 OPS.

Diamondbacks land Kade Strowd and two prospects

Arizona’s headliner is Strowd, who quietly made himself a real bullpen piece down the stretch last year.

He finished 2025 with a 1.71 ERA over 25 appearances, and he improved his control late in the season as he settled into a longer look in the majors.

With Aracena and Mejia also included, the Diamondbacks turn one big league utility infielder into a three-player depth package while the Orioles bet Alexander can stick in a useful role on a roster that always seems to value options.
