Breaking: 3-Time Batting Champ Arraez Signs Free Agent Deal
Finally, the free agent with three batting titles on his resume, and a .317 liftetime average, has a job. Luis Arraez has signed a deal with the San Francisco Giants.
Luis Arráez entered this winter looking to play second base full-time, and that’s where the Giants intend to play him, filling out an infield that includes Rafael Devers, Willy Adames and Matt Chapman. https://t.co/EyIYQXcJSE

As insider Jeff Passan reports, Arraez was holding out for a job in which he could move off of first base and play second full-time, his natural position. The Giants were the team to offer it to him.
And while Arraez's defense at 2B is far from elite (to say the least), the Giants will have two excellent defenders on the other side of the infield, in Willy Adames at short and Matt Chapman at third, to help balance it out.
Last season with the San Diego Padres, Arraez led the National League in hits with 181, while batting .292. He'll take those bat-to-ball skills up the coast to a division rival.
Newest #SFGiants second baseman Luis Arraez remains the most contact-friendly hitter in the Bigs.
