MLB Rumors: 3 Potential Free-Agent Destinations For Alex Bregman
Alex Bregman is one of this year's top MLB free agents. The 31-year-old infielder is coming off a solid season with the Boston Red Sox, where he had 18 home runs, 62 RBIs, and a .273 batting average. He was an All-Star for the third time in his career.
With all of this, there should be a good amount of interest in Bregman this season. Let's look at three teams that could sign him.
Boston Red Sox
The possibility of the Red Sox bringing back Bregman should not be ruled out. He fit in wonderfully in their lineup this season, and they undoubtedly would miss him if he ends up signing elsewhere. With this, don't be surprised if the Red Sox work hard to sign Bregman.
Detroit Tigers
The Tigers were one of the top suitors for Bregman this past offseason, so they are expected to be in the mix for his services again. There is no question that he would give their infield a significant boost if they landed him. He would also give them another impactful hitter to work with, which would be great news for a Tigers club looking to take another step forward in 2026.
New York Mets
Keep an eye on the Mets when it comes to Bregman. After a disappointing 2025 season, the expectation is that they will be looking to make some notable moves this offseason. Signing Bregman would undoubtedly strengthen their roster, as he would give them another star to work with.
