MLB Rumors: 3 Mariners Who Won't Be Back Next Season

Seattle Mariners first baseman Josh Naylor reacts after hitting a home run during 2025 playoff game.

The Seattle Mariners were one inning from changing their history, then watched the American League pennant slip away.

Now comes the hard reset.

With payroll choices looming and a thin winter market driving prices up, three contributors from the 2025 push are lining up to depart. Here is what that means for Seattle’s depth chart and how the front office can replace the production without losing its edge.

Josh Naylor

Naylor did everything asked after the deadline, driving runs and giving the lineup real bite. That surge also set up a payday Seattle will struggle to match. With multiple big-market bidders circling, his next deal should push near nine figures. The Mariners can reallocate those dollars and lean on internal options while adding a complementary righty bat.

Caleb Ferguson

Ferguson stabilized leverage spots from the left side and should find multi-year offers in a market that always pays for reliable relief. With Andrés Muñoz under control and Seattle’s knack for building bullpens on the fly, it makes more sense to let another club set the price.

Eugenio Suárez

Suárez brought power and October moments, but the overall fit over 162 is tougher. A streaky second half will nudge Seattle toward spreading resources across contact and versatility while giving younger infielders more runway. Another contender needing pop at the corners is a cleaner match for his market.
