MLB Trade Rumors: 4 Teams Linked To Orioles' All-Star Slugger

Baltimore Orioles first baseman Ryan O'Hearn walks off after at-bat during 2025 game.

As the Baltimore Orioles drift further from playoff contention, veteran slugger Ryan O’Hearn has emerged as one of their most valuable trade chips.

FanSided’s Quinn Everts has linked O’Hearn to four potential contenders, each looking for left-handed pop in the middle of their lineup. With O’Hearn boasting an .840 OPS and a career-best campaign at age 31, his market is heating up just in time for the MLB trade deadline.

San Francisco Giants

The San Francisco Giants already made waves by trading for Rafael Devers, but their offense remains starved for power, ranking bottom-five in both home runs and slugging percentage. O’Hearn could slot in at first base, pushing Devers to DH and replacing the struggling Wilmer Flores. Giants insiders believe the fit is seamless, and with Baltimore unlikely to demand a haul, Buster Posey’s front office may pounce on a low-risk upgrade.

Texas Rangers

The Texas Rangers have endured a sluggish title defense but remain within reach of an AL Wild Card berth. With a team OPS under .680, O’Hearn’s bat could be a jolt of life in the middle of the lineup. Pairing him with Adolis García gives Texas a fighting chance at reviving their offense without sacrificing pitching depth or young talent. His addition wouldn’t solve everything, but it might keep the Rangers in the hunt.

Seattle Mariners

O’Hearn’s fit with the Seattle Mariners feels almost too perfect. Seattle has a glaring need for a left-handed bat who can hit righties, and O’Hearn fits that bill with a .892 OPS against them. A proposed mock trade would send Rowdy Tellez and two prospects to Baltimore, giving the Mariners a true middle-of-the-order threat for a postseason push. With Cal Raleigh surging and Julio Rodríguez anchoring the outfield, O’Hearn could round out a playoff-caliber lineup.

New York Yankees

The New York Yankees sit firmly in the AL East race but need more consistency from their offense. Yankee Stadium’s short right-field porch is tailor-made for O’Hearn’s lefty swing. Despite the rarity of intra-division trades, this one could make sense, especially with O’Hearn on an expiring contract. With the Red Sox lurking just behind them, the Yankees may feel pressure to act fast to avoid slipping in the standings.
