The Mets are sending prospects Wellington Aracena (#19 in their system) and Cameron Foster to the Orioles in exchange.
Soto was a closer with the Detroit Tigers a few years back, and recorded 48 saves over his two All-Star seasons in 2021 and '22.
The 30-year-old ranks in the 86th percentile in fastball velocity and the 94th percentile in limiting barrel contact this season, per Baseball Savant. He regularly records over a strikeout per inning, and he sits at 10.5 K/9 this year. It's the walks that can sometimes come back to bite him, which limits his ERA upside with a career 4.24 mark. He's at 3.96 this season, as he's issuing 4.5 walks per nine.
