Duran, still under team control through 2028, would be a long-term fix for Philadelphia’s outfield. He’s slashing .274/.323/.423 with elite speed and defense, making him an instant upgrade over Brandon Marsh.
Meanwhile, Chapman has rediscovered his elite form as Boston’s closer, boasting an ERA under 2.00 and still throwing 100 mph heat. If the Red Sox are ready to promote top prospect Roman Anthony, Duran could be the odd man out—and Philly has the prospect capital to make it happen.
Rumors swirling about Aroldis Chapman and Jarren Duran being available.

Package them, Dave. Get it done. This kills two birds with one stone.
But a deal this big won’t come cheap. Rumors suggest Boston would want Andrew Painter or Mick Abel as the headliner, plus additional high-value prospects.
That’s a steep price, but Duran isn’t a rental—he’s a potential centerpiece. If the Red Sox embrace a soft reset and the Phillies go all-in on 2025, this rare win-win trade could reshape both teams for years to come.
