MLB Trade Rumors: Dodgers & Brewers Linked To Blockbuster Deal

Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Freddy Peralta pitches during 2025 game.

With their rotation ravaged by injuries, the Los Angeles Dodgers could be setting their sights on a game-changing trade.

According to FanSided's Robert Murray and Zach Pressnell, Milwaukee Brewers ace Freddy Peralta is emerging as a surprise trade candidate, and Los Angeles may be the ideal landing spot. Peralta, who owns a 2.92 ERA through 13 starts this season, would instantly solidify a depleted Dodgers staff that has lost Blake Snell, Tyler Glasnow, and Roki Sasaki.

Dodgers Have the Need—and the Trade Chips

The Dodgers’ rotation has been held together by Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Dustin May, and fill-ins like Landon Knack and Tony Gonsolin. That’s not the core of a championship-caliber staff.

Peralta’s affordable contract (just $8 million club option for 2026) and ace-level performance make him an especially attractive target. Los Angeles also has the prospect capital to get it done—Bobby Miller and James Outman could headline a deal, with both players blocked in the current system but still possessing strong upside for a team like Milwaukee.

Will the Brewers Actually Trade Him?

Milwaukee remains in the playoff hunt and has won seven straight, which could keep Peralta off the table, at least for now. But the Brewers have a recent history of selling high on pitchers with club control, having already traded Josh Hader, Corbin Burnes, and Devin Williams under similar conditions.

If the Dodgers want to strike, timing will be everything. Should Milwaukee hit a rough patch, Peralta could quickly become the most coveted arm on the market—and the Dodgers may be first in line.
