MLB Rumors: Frontrunner For Teoscar Hernandez Resides In AL East

There are a number of outfielder/DH types on the free agent market, all capable of putting up similar decent power numbers. Former Toronto Blue Jay and Seattle Mariner Teoscar Hernandez is one of that group, and if the Boston Red Sox have their way, he could return to the American League East.

MLB Insider Ken Rosenthal says the BoSox are the most interested team right now in Hernandez's services, and he could certainly have himself a little fun with the Green Monster if he signed in Beantown.

The Blue Jays probably wouldn't enjoy seeing him come back to haunt them, but they were pretty anxious to deal him away in the summer of 2022 for reliever Erik Swanson.

Hernandez has averaged 26 home runs in his five full major league seasons, with a career OPS of .802 and an OPS+ of 118 (making him 18% better than the average hitter).

The Red Sox are looking for more oomph in their outfield, and have their sights set on Teo at this point.
