FREE AGENT SIGNING: Jack Flaherty Joins AL Central Team

The Detroit Tigers have made a strategic move by signing right-hander pitcher Jack Flaherty, a significant addition to their rotation for the upcoming season.

This one-year contract, valued at $14 million, solidifies Flaherty's role in the Tigers' pitching lineup.

The deal also includes potential bonuses, with the contract's value capable of reaching up to $15 million based on starts: $250,000 each for the 26th and 28th starts, and an additional $500,000 for the 30th start.

Flaherty, who turned 28 in mid-October, is a seasoned MLB veteran with a seven-year experience in the league.

In the last season, he recorded a 4.99 ERA with 66 walks and 148 strikeouts over 144.1 innings, spanning 29 games of which he started 27.

That being said, his past performances highlights his capability and potential impact on the Tigers' rotation.

The acquisition of Flaherty is a key part of the Tigers' strategy to bolster their pitching staff.

This move comes even after the team inked Kenta Maeda to a two-year deal, indicating a clear intent to strengthen their starting pitching options.
