Top 3 Trade Destinations For Corbin Burnes

The Milwaukee Brewers are entering a big turning point in the franchise. Longtime manager Craig Counsell has departed, and a couple of big-name impending free agents may be on the move.

Corbin Burnes, a former Cy Young Award winner in Milwaukee, is the biggest name entering his final year before free agency, and the Brew Crew are looking seriously at dealing him.

We look now at the top 3 trade destinations for the 29-year-old three-time All-Star:

Baltimore Orioles

The O's made an improbable charge into the postseason this year, but the starting pitching was lacking in the playoffs, and is in need of a dominant force to scare the bejeezus out of the opposition. If they were to add a Cy Young-caliber ace at the top of their rotation, their ascension would reach new heights next season. They certainly have the prospects and thriving young talent to get a deal done with Milwaukee, a team looking to add young, inexpensive players.

Los Angeles Dodgers

The big-market Dodgers need to make a big-market splash this winter, and while they're chasing the big fish in the free agent pool, Shohei Ohtani, he won't be able to help in the rotation in 2024 due to elbow surgery. The Dodgers rotation has been decimated by injury, age and free agency, and they'd love to add an ace like Burnes. They, too, have the farm system to entice the Brewers into a trade.

San Francisco Giants

And while the Dodgers continually add big stars to their roster, the Giants have tried desperately to do that the past few seasons in free agency, but haven't been able to land one. Perhaps simply trading for one is their best option at this point. They won't have to convince Burnes to take their money in order to get him — at least not yet. They'd have a full season to convince him that The Bay is the place to stay.
