Orioles Sign Free Agent Right-Handed Pitcher; Played Last 4 Seasons Overseas

The Baltimore Orioles have recently inked a minor league contract with right-handed pitcher Albert Suárez.

Suárez's last stint in the major leagues dates back to 2017 when he played for the San Francisco Giants.

However, over the past four years, he has ventured abroad, splitting his time between Japan and Korea.

At 34 years old, Suárez is expected to receive an invitation to spring training as part of this arrangement.

Over his two-year career in the majors, Suarez holds a 4.51 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, with 88 strikeouts across 115.2 innings and 40 appearances.

This signing is intended to bolster the Orioles' pitching depth within their organization as they make preparations for the 2024 season. Photo Credit: John Hefti-USA TODAY Sports
