TRADE: Toronto Blue Jays Land Veteran Infielder From St. Louis

The Toronto Blue Jays have already made one splash at the deadline, acquiring Jordan Hicks from the St. Louis Cardinals, and now, they've gone back to the well with St. Louis to acquire another player at a big position of need.

This time, it's Paul DeJong, who will be key for Toronto in the potential absence of Bo Bichette, and even when their start shortstop is healthy from his current injury cloud, DeJong is a proven veteran who has stepped up in the post-season, making this another great move for the Jays.

In 81 games thus far in 2023, the 29-year old has put together a .233 batting average along with 13 home runs and 32 RBI's, combining that with solid defence and a great veteran presence makes him a huge pickup for the Blue Jays, and could help them finally make a deep playoff run.
