Toronto Blue Jays DFA Major Trade Deadline Acquisition

The Toronto Blue Jays have been building to World Series contenders for a number of years now, and after a solid trade deadline alongside a fantastic lineup and one of the best rotations in baseball, this appeared to be a team ready for a deep post-season run.

Surprisingly though, today the team announced that they have DFA'd veteran infielder Paul DeJong to make room for Bo Bichette's return, despite acquiring him just a few weeks ago at the MLB Trade Deadline.

In 44 at bats with the Blue Jays, DeJong struggled in a big way, managing just 3 hits, and with Bichette back, this move makes plenty of sense, but it was no doubt a disappointing run for Toronto after picking him up at the deadline.
