Tampa Bay Rays Showing Trade Interest In 3 Starting Pitchers

As the MLB trade deadline approaches, the Tampa Bay Rays find themselves in need of reinforcements for their starting rotation due to multiple injuries.

The Rays have suffered setbacks with starters Drew Rasmussen and Jeffrey Springs out for the year, while Shane Baz and Josh Fleming are currently on the injured list.

Although Shane McClanahan and Tyler Glasnow have battled injuries, they are currently healthy.

To address their pitching needs, the Rays have been actively exploring trade options.

They have engaged in discussions with the Chicago White Sox for Lance Lynn, despite his rough season, based on his strong strikeout profile. The Rays believe a change of scenery could help Lynn rebound.

Additionally, they have been closely scouting Jordan Montgomery and Jack Flaherty from the St. Louis Cardinals. Montgomery has shown consistency with a solid ERA, while Flaherty has battled injuries but still holds promise.

With a deep farm system and a strong desire to compete in the postseason, the Rays are expected to be active in pursuing various starting pitchers.

They are willing to consider a range of options as they look to strengthen their roster and maintain their slim lead in the American League East.

While pitching remains their main focus, the Rays also have their eyes on offensive help as the trade deadline approaches, aiming to make impactful moves that could propel them to a late-season surge. Photo Credit: Jeff Curry-USA TODAY Sports
