San Francisco Giants Slugging Outfielder Makes Major League Debut

The San Francisco Giants have had great success with young names Casey Schmitt and Patrick Bailey thus far in 2023, and after Mitch Haniger suffered an unfortunate injury on Tuesday, yet another potential young star has joined the ranks.

This time, it's Luis Matos, who has been absolutely red-hot in recent weeks at the Triple-A level, hitting .398 with 7 home runs and 20 RBI's in just 116 plate appearances, and while it's not the way Giants fans would have wanted to see him called up, he now gets his big chance at the big league level.

In his debut, Matos started in centre field, singling in his first plate appearance, ending the day 1-3 before being pinch hit for by Michael Conforto, but if that success at AAA can translate to the big league level, the Giants have found themselves yet another core piece for the future.
