San Diego Padres Place Former All-Star On Waivers

The San Diego Padres have recently made a roster move, with the reinstatement of left-hander Adrian Morejon from the 60-day injured list.

To accommodate Morejon's return, outfielder David Dahl has been designated for assignment.

Dahl, who signed a minor league deal with the Padres earlier this year, has faced challenges in recent years due to injuries and inconsistent performance.

Despite his efforts at Triple-A El Paso this season, where he recorded a batting line of .266/.347/.375 in 72 plate appearances, Dahl's stint in the MLB earlier this year was limited to a 1-for-9 performance.

Now, the Padres will have the opportunity to trade Dahl or pass him through waivers. If he clears waivers, Dahl can choose to reject an outright assignment and become a free agent.

Of course, a team can still claim the 29-year-old off waivers.

Over his six-year career, Dahl holds a .271/.317/.463 slash line, with 43 home runs, 161 RBIs, 17 stolen bases, and 169 runs scored across 331 games played. Photo Credit: Orlando Ramirez-USA TODAY Sports
