MLB Rumors: San Diego Padres & Chicago White Sox Talking Trade

It is not a secret that the San Diego Padres are looking to improve at the catcher position. Because of this, they are browsing the trade market for one, and Chicago White Sox veteran Yasmani Grandal is emerging as a trade target for them because of it.

The White Sox are gearing up for a summer of selling. It has been a disastrous campaign for Chicago, and players like Grandal are expected to be dealt. When noting that Grandal is still an effective player at this juncture of his career, it would make sense for the Padres to bring him in before the deadline passes.

Grandal has appeared in 64 games this season, where he has six home runs, 19 RBIs, and a .261 batting average. It has been a solid year for him overall, and it could be exactly what leads him to San Diego in the coming weeks. Keep in mind, they are desperately trying to get back into the playoff picture.

We will now need to wait and see if the Padres end up bringing in Grandal to improve their group from here.
