Tampa Bay Rays Slugger Leaves Game Against New York, Will Get Scans On Injury

After splitting their latest four game series with the New York Yankees, the Tampa Bay Rays remain firmly atop the stacked American League East division, but now, they could be dealing with an injury to one of their most important pieces.

That would be slugger Yandy Diaz, who left the game in the first inning with a groin injury, and will now have an MRI to confirm the severity of the injury, and while it's not feared that he will miss significant time, he could find himself on the 10-day Injured List.

In 39 games thus far in 2023, Diaz is hitting .321 with 10 home runs and 24 RBI's, and is a key piece for this team going forward, and if he can be healthy come playoff time, this is a team that's ready to go deep, so the team will be keeping their fingers crossed that this is nothing serious.
