MLB Rumors: Pittsburgh Pirates Discussing Long-Term Extension With Breakout Star

The Pittsburgh Pirates have shocked the MLB world with their start to the 2023 season, and while there's many factors that go into the success they've had as they have crafted a 22-19 record, one of the biggest reasons is the breakout season from 27-year old starter Mitch Keller.

In 2023, Keller has put up a 5-1 record with a 2.38 ERA and 69 strikeouts in 56.2 innings, and after a slow start to his career, he's blossoming into the Pirates next big ace after they lost the likes of Gerrit Cole and A.J. Burnett.

Now, after signing a one-year deal before 2023, Bob Nightengale has revealed that the two sides are beginning talks on an extension, just a day after a stellar 7 inning, 4 hit, 13 strikeout performance against Baltimore, and it's safe to say that this could be a massive deal.
