MLB Rumors: New York Yankees Star Nearing Rehab Assignment

The New York Yankees have been playing solid baseball all season long, despite losing some of their biggest names to injury throughout the year, but now it appears that things are turning around, with more cavalry potentially on the way.

Not only are the Yankees getting Luis Severino back this week, but Manager Aaron Boone has confirmed that power hitting outfielder/DH Giancarlo Stanton is nearing a rehab assignment, meaning that he could return to the lineup as early as the first week of June.

In 13 games this year, Stanton racked up 4 Home Runs and 11 RBI's with a .269 batting average, and for a Yankees lineup that has lacked consistency at points this year, his return, whenever that comes will be very welcome.
