Houston Astros Lose Key Starter To Tommy John Surgery

The Houston Astros have been one of the MLB's best teams in recent years, and with so much depth and superstar talent, they've always got a target on their backs, but unfortunately, the injuries have seemingly struck in 2023.

On Friday, it was officially announced that after a solid 2021 and 2022 campaign, star starting pitcher Luis Garcia will be undergoing Tommy John Surgery, likely ruling him out until mid way through the 2024 season, a major blow to their title defence.

While the Astros have plenty of depth in their rotation, Garcia gave them over 155 innings in each of the past two seasons, so if they are to repeat as World Series Champions, they'll need to find a capable starter to give them such crucial innings.
