Atlanta Braves Rumors: 2 All-Star Starting Pitchers On Team's Radar

The Atlanta Braves have set their sights on bolstering their pitching staff, with two All-Star pitchers emerging as potential trade targets for the team.

Despite their respective challenges earlier in the season, recent performances from both pitchers have caught the attention of the Braves' front office.

Paul Blackburn

Blackburn, who recently returned from an injury, made an impressive debut outing that showcased his potential. Despite being closely monitored on his pitch count by the Oakland Athletics, Blackburn delivered a stellar performance against the Braves.

In just 4.0 innings, he allowed only four hits and two walks, resulting in a mere one earned run while striking out six Atlanta hitters.

This strong display of command and skill has solidified Blackburn's appeal as an immediate contributor and, for now, dispelled some of the doubts that last season's All-Star performance was a fluke.

Lance Lynn

On the other hand, Lance Lynn, a seasoned All-Star and three-time Cy Young candidate, had a challenging start to the season with a high 5.83 ERA and 1.45 WHIP.

However, Lynn's recent performances have shown significant improvement, reigniting the interest of the Braves. Over his last three starts, Lynn has allowed just four earned runs in 19 innings while recording 18 strikeouts.

This upward trend in his pitching performance has reminded teams of his past successes and highlighted his potential value. Photo Credit: Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports
