Aaron Judge's Injury Woes The Latest Ominous Sign For Yankees

Is the season spiralling out of control for the New York Yankees? After losing seven of their last nine games, they've now learned that they'll have to deal with life without Aaron Judge for a little bit, as he's been placed on the injured list.

It's a trip to the 10-day IL with a right hip strain for Judge.

The injury appears to have happened on this play last week, after an awkward slide into third base:

At first it looked like it could be a hand injury, but it turns out he likely injured his hip on the play.

The Home Run King has been off to another strong start to the season, though perhaps not by his own Judgian standards. He's hitting .261 with six home runs and 14 RBIs with an .863 OPS. Regardless, to say he'll be missed in the Yankees' lineup is a massive understatement.

The Yankees are already without Giancarlo Stanton, and have 13 players on the IL.

As noted by MLB Insider Ken Rosenthal, the team ranks 23rd in the majors in runs per game. They better hope this is a minimum stay on the IL for Judge.
