Oakland Athletics Place Outfielder On Waivers

When you've been dropped from the 40-man roster by the 3-13 Oakland Athletics, you know you're doing something wrong.

Well, unfortunately, that's the case with outfielder Cal Stevenson, as the A's have designated him for assignment.

The move was made to make room for utility player Tyler Wade, who was called up from Triple-A Las Vegas. Despite Stevenson's strong performance in Triple-A, where he had a .348 batting average, .483 on-base percentage, .435 slugging percentage, two RBI, and three stolen bases in seven games, the Athletics chose to remove him from their 40-man roster.

Stevenson will now be exposed to waivers, giving other teams the chance to claim him if they need outfield depth.

Meanwhile, Tyler Wade has shown promise in Triple-A, hitting .286/.405/.286 with 4 RBI and 7 stolen bases in 10 games. Although he may not provide much power, Wade's speed could be a valuable asset for the Athletics, and he could potentially earn regular playing time with the team. Photo Credit: D.
