Boston Red Sox Rumors: 3 Early-Season Trade Candidates

Welcome to Baseball Rumors' Early-Season Trade Candidates series. During it, we will be looking at three players who are already emerging as trade candidates during the beginning portion of the campaign.

In this first installment, we will be focusing on the Boston Red Sox.

Corey Kluber: Corey Kluber may have been the Red Sox's Opening Day starter, but his time in Boston could certainly be short-lived. The two-time AL Cy Young Award winner is on a one-year deal, and the Red Sox are expected to be among the league's worst clubs in 2023. Therefore, as the year rolls on, he stands out as a prime rental candidate.

Bobby Dalbec: Bobby Dalbec was in the rumor mill all offseason, but the Red Sox failed to find him a new home during it. Now the infielder has failed to make their major league roster, and that only should heighten the chances of him being moved. Teams looking to take a chance on a young infielder who has had some success at the plate in the past should call Boston about Dalbec.

Jarren Duran: Like Dalbec, Jarren Duran failed to make Boston's Opening Day roster, and a trade could be on the way because of it. The 26-year-old outfielder's name was in the rumor mill during the offseason as well. Teams looking to take a chance on the former top prospect should strike now while the iron is hot.
