Tampa Bay Rays Star Infielder Officially In For Opening Day

Earlier this week, there was optimism that Wander Franco would be good to go for the Tampa Bay Rays on Opening Day. Now, that is officially coming to fruition, as he is officially set to play in the Rays' season opener.

This is exciting news for the Rays, as Franco is one of their top players, and they certainly did not want to start the season without him. This is especially true when noting that the American League East is immensely competitive, so starting off the year on the right foot is essential. Thus, having Franco around is a necessity for them.

Franco appeared in 83 games last season with the Rays, where he had six home runs, 33 RBIs, and a .277 batting average. Overall, it was another strong season from the promising youngster, and it will now be intriguing to see how well he performs for the Rays this season from here.
