San Diego Padres Sign Shortstop

The San Diego Padres have signed shortstop Luis Aviles Jr. to a minor-league contract.

He gives the Padres some extra organizational infield depth.

For his minor-league career, the 28-year-old holds a .242/.291/.367 triple-slash line, 57 home runs, 311 RBIs, 165 stolen bases and 359 runs scored over 803 games played.
