San Diego Padres Rumors: Infielder Linked to Contender

The Atlanta Braves have a solid roster heading into the 2023 season, but it is also clear that they could use another shortstop after losing Dansby Swanson this offseason. As a result, there are rumblings that they are expressing interest in Ha-Seong Kim of the San Diego Padres.

The Padres are open to moving Kim if it means improving their pitching depth. As a result, there could be a match here between the two NL clubs. Kim would provide the Braves with an upgrade in their infield, so they should consider making a big push him before Opening Day is officially here.

Kim appeared in 150 games this past season with the San Diego Padres, where he had 11 home runs, 59 RBIs, and a .252 batting average. Overall, it was a solid season for Kim, but now that the Padres have signed superstar shortstop Xander Bogaerts, he may be expendable for the right price. Alas, we will need to wait and see if the Braves can land their trade target from here.
