New York Yankees Rumors: Outfielder Open to Extension

While speaking with MLB insider Jon Heyman, Harrison Bader said that he wants to be a Yankee for as long as he can be. Thus, it is apparent that the outfielder is hoping for a contract extension from his hometown team.

Bader was acquired by the Yankees last season from the St. Louis Cardinals, and he has been a solid addition for them since. Although he struggled after returning from injury for them, he heated up immensely during the playoffs, as he had five home runs in 35 plate appearances. Now, he will be aiming to bring some of that magic over to the 2023 season.

It is clear that the Yankees see something special in Bader, as they would not have brought him in if this was not the case. As a result, perhaps an extension could be on the way if he continues to play well for them this season. However, he is starting the year injured again.

In 86 regular-season games last season, Bader had five home runs, 30 RBIs, and a .250 batting average.
