MLB Rumors: 3 Potential Landing Spots for Jose Iglesias

The 2023 season is right around the corner, but at the time of this writing, Jose Iglesias still has yet to find a new home. However, when noting that he is an experienced shortstop who is coming off of another solid season, that is expected to change. As a result, let's discuss three possible landing spots for him.

Colorado Rockies: Could the Colorado Rockies consider bringing back Iglesias? It certainly is not too outrageous of a thought. After all, he performed well for them last season, as he had three home runs, 47 RBIs, and a .292 batting average in 118 games played. When noting that the Rockies could use more infield depth and are looking to be more competitive in 2023, they should consider this reunion.

Los Angeles Dodgers: The Los Angeles Dodgers are standing out as a prime potential landing spot for Iglesias. They have been hit heavily at the shortstop position, as they lost Trea Turner through free agency and Gavin Lux is done for the year with a torn ACL. Thus, don't be surprised if Iglesias is a Dodger by Opening Day.

Boston Red Sox: The Boston Red Sox also stand out as a possible landing spot for them. After all, they know Iglesias quite well, as he has had two separate tenures with them. Now, perhaps a third could be on the way? Keep in mind, the Red Sox lost Xander Bogaerts through free agency and Trevor Story is also out long term. Iglesias would serve as a solid option for them at short if signed.
