Cincinnati Reds Cut Veteran Outfielder

Chad Pinder, a versatile infielder/outfielder, has become a free agent once again after being released by the Cincinnati Reds.

Pinder had signed a non-roster invitation deal with the team in January, but his lackluster performance during spring training, hitting only .103 with nine strikeouts in 42 plate appearances, led to his release.

Despite his offensive struggles in recent years, Pinder's ability to play multiple positions on defense could still make him an intriguing option for other teams.

Over his seven-year career, the 30-year-old has posted a .242/.294/.417 triple-slash line, with 62 home runs, 197 RBIs, five stolen bases and 204 runs scored across 553 games played.

It remains to be seen where he will land next, but it's clear that his flexibility in the field could be an asset for any team willing to take a chance on him. Photo Credit: Rick Scuteri-USA TODAY Sports
