The Blue Jays have signed pitcher Michael Brewer to a minor-league contract, he announced via his personal Twitter page.

Brewer spent the 2022 season with High-A Hickory, the Texas Rangers' affiliate, recording a strong 2.61 ERA, 1.31 WHIP, with 50 strikeouts across 41.1 innings of work. He made 32 relief appearances, converted five saves and held a 5-4 record.

The twenty-two-year-old is a former 32nd-round pick by the Rangers in the 2019 MLB Draft.

For his minor-league career, Brewer holds a solid 3.01 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and 93 strikeouts over 71.2 innings. He's made 50 relief appearances, converted six saves and holds a 7-5 record.

It's a minor move by the Blue Jays right now, but could be a big one in the future.
