Texas Rangers Sign Left-Handed Pitcher

Bringing him back.

The Texas Rangers have signed left-handed pitcher Joe Palumbo to a minor league contract with an invite to spring training.
Palumbo spent the first eight seasons of his career with the Rangers after being drafted by the team in the 30th round of the 2013 MLB Draft.

The 28-year-old saw action in the majors during the 2019 and 2020 seasons but has missed significant time due to injuries over the past two years.

However, Palumbo is now healthy and will compete for a spot in the Rangers' bullpen this spring. If he doesn't make the major league roster, he'll provide organizational depth in the upper minors, likely pitching for Triple-A Round Rock.

For his minor-league career, the left-handed pitcher holds a solid 3.03 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, with 438 strikeouts across 368.2 innings of work. Photo Credit: Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports
