San Francisco Giants Re-Sign Pitcher

Bringing him back.

The San Francisco Giants have re-signed pitcher Mauricio Llovera to a minor-league contract.

Llovera was non-tendered by the Giants a few months ago, shortly after being removed from the club's 40-man roster, but he's since decided to return to the team.

The twenty six-year-old's season was cut short by a right forearm strain in July. He posted a 4.41 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, and 20 strikeouts over 16.1 innings of work before that.

Llovera has enjoyed success during his time in the minors, however, posting a 3.30 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and 478 strikeouts across 444.2 innings.

If he impresses in the minors to begin the year, there's a very good chance we see Llovera brought up to the majors this season.
