Pittsburgh Pirates Sign Pitcher

Joining the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The Pirates have signed pitcher Rob Zastrynzny to a minor-league contract with an invite to spring training.

Zastrynzny was non-tendered by the Los Angeles Angels in November after pitching just four innings in the majors in 2022 and allowing four runs.

Over his four-year career, the thirty-year-old holds a 4.66 ERA, 1.47 WHIP, and 34 strikeouts over 38.2 innings. He's spent time with the Chicago Cubs, New York Mets and the Angels.

Zastrynzny will be looking to land a spot in the Pirates' bullpen for Opening Day.

He is a former second-round pick by the Cubs in the 2013 MLB Draft.
