Pittsburgh Pirates Sign Pitcher

The Pittsburgh Pirates have added to their pitching depth, as they have signed Nathan Webb to a minor league contract.

At this point of the offseason, teams across the majors often sign several pitchers as they gear up for spring training. This allows them to take a look at multiple options, and Webb will provide the Pirates with just that following this signing. Although he is unlikely to compete for a spot on the major-league roster, he could serve as a potential call-up option if he performs well at the start of the year.

Webb struggled mightily in 2022, as he had a 2-3 record to go along with a disastrous 9.99 ERA in 27 games. Needless to say, it was a year to forget for the righty, but now he will have the chance of a fresh start with the Pirates organization in 2023. Let’s see how he performs from here.
