Oakland Athletics Sign Outfielder

Back where it all started.

The Oakland Athletics have signed outfielder Greg Deichmann to a minor-league contract.

Deichmann was drafted by the Athletics in the second round of the 2017 MLB Draft before later being traded to the Chicago Cubs in 2021 as part of the Andrew Chafin deal.

Last season, at Triple-A Iowa, Deichmann slashed a poor .214/.271/.355 line, with seven home runs, 33 RBIs, eight stolen bases and 27 runs scored over 78 games.

He's played just 14 games in the majors in his career, tacking on just one RBI in that span.

For his minor-league career, the twenty-seven-year-old holds a .239/.329/.410 triple-slash line, with 40 home runs, 175 RBIs, 41 stolen bases and 189 runs scored over 356 games played.
