Injury Update On Baltimore Orioles Talented Starting Pitcher

He underwent Tommy John surgery last April.

Baltimore Orioles general manager Mike Elias said last week that starter John Means is on track to return sometime in July.

On Sunday, Means said that he's now throwing from 140 feet and expects to throw off a half-mound at the start of spring training.

Means recovery from Tommy John has reportedly been going well and, barring any setbacks, July would be the earliest possible return for him.

The twenty-nine-year-old made just two starts last year before going down with injury. Over the last two seasons, Means holds a 3.61 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, and 141 strikeouts across 154.2 innings and 28 starts.

We should receive a more detailed return timetable as Means ramps up his activity in the coming weeks.
