Dominican Republic Team At World Baseball Classic Is NASTY

It could be one of the greatest baseball teams ever assembled. The Dominican Republic team at next month's World Baseball Classic will be must-watch TV. If all eligible players report to the team, their lineup is absolutely stunning.

The potential batting order looks like this:

1. JULIO RODRIGUEZ

2. JUAN SOTO

3. MANNY MACHADO

4. VLADIMIR GUERRERO JR.

5. JOSÉ RAMIREZ

6. RAFAEL DEVERS

7. TEOSCAR HERNÁNDEZ

8. GARY SÁNCHEZ

9. JEREMY PEÑA

With Vlad Guerrero Jr. at first, Jose Ramirez at second, Jeremy Pena at short and Rafael Devers at third, MLB Insider Jon Morosi today called it "one of the very best infields ever assembled anywhere in the history of baseball."

"That's a broad statement, but I think it's true," said Morosi. "They might also have Wander Franco, and Willy Adames... And we also know that (historically) this team... really coalesces and builds chemistry quickly."

And with Juan Soto and Julio Rodriguez in the outfield, along with Teoscar Hernandez, the outfield is nothing to sneeze at either.

It'll be tough for any pitching staff to deal with this nasty, savage lineup.

And on the mound? How about reigning Cy Young winner Sandy Alcantara as the headliner of the pitching staff?

"Guys, this is gonna be one of the great teams we've seen in this Classic, ever," concluded Morosi.
