Detroit Tigers Sign Right-Handed Pitcher

The Detroit Tigers add some pitching depth.

The Tigers have signed right-handed pitcher Ashton Goudeau to a minor-league contract with an invite to spring training.
Goudeau previously played for the Colorado Rockies and made 12 relief appearances last season, ending with a ugly 7.08 ERA, a 1.72 WHIP, and 16 strikeouts across 20.1 innings.

Additionally, he has recorded 32 appearances, including one start, in the majors over the last three years. Despite his less than impressive stats, Goudeau will join the Tigers' big-league club for spring training, but is expected to serve as organizational depth in Triple-A.

Goudeau is a former 27th-round pick by the Kansas City Royals in the 2012 MLB Draft.

For his major-league career, the thirty-year-old holds a 5.57 ERA, 1.48 WHIP, with 40 strikeouts across 63 innings of work 32 appearances. Photo Credit: Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports
