David Peralta Signs Free Agent Deal To Return To NL West

One of the top remaining free agents, left fielder David Peralta, has found a new home for 2023, agreeing to a one-year contract to head back to the National League West, with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The deal is worth $6.5M, according to MLB Insider Jeff Passan. An extra $1.5M in incentives could bring the total to $8M.

As noted by Passan, Peralta will join the likes of Trayce Thompson and Chris Taylor in the fight for at-bats in left field.

Peralta has a lifetime .281 average with a .796 OPS, and an OPS+ of 111, meaning he's 11% above the average hitter.

He spent the first nine years of his career with the Arizona Diamondbacks, where he won one Silver Slugger (2018) and one Gold Glove (2019). He was dealt to the Tampa Bay Rays at last season's trade deadline, where he finished the season.
