Cleveland Guardians Claim Pitcher Off Waivers

The Cleveland Guardians wasted no time in filling the 40-man roster spot that was freed up earlier this week.

The Guardians have claimed pitcher Jason Bilous off waivers from the Chicago White Sox.

Last season, between Double-A Birmingham and Triple-A Charlotte, the twenty-five-year-old recorded a 6.30 ERA, 1.74 WHIP, with 131 strikeouts over 105.2 innings of work. He made 21 starts, 10 relief appearances, and held a 6-11 record.

His control issues have always been one of his biggest problems throughout his career. However, he also averaged an impressive 11.2 K/9 last season. Cleveland will take a chance on him.

Bilous is a former 13th-round pick by the White Sox in the 2018 MLB Draft.
