Boston Red Sox Re-Sign Free Agent Infielder

Bringing him back.

The Boston Red Sox have re-signed free agent infielder Yu Chang to a one-year contract.

Chang was non-tendered by the Red Sox back in November, but they'll bring him back now to provide some much-needed infield depth.

With Trevor Story out indefinitely and Aldaberto Mondesi's timeline unclear, the move makes sense.

Chang slashed a poor .208/.289/.315 line over 190 plate appearances between the Red Sox, Cleveland Guardians, Pittsburgh Pirates and the Tampa Bay Rays last season.

The twenty-nine-year-old doesn't offer much offensively, but he's a versatile defender.

Over his four-year career, Chang holds a .213/.279/.360 triple-slash line, with 14 home runs, 61 RBIs, one stolen base and 60 runs scored across 196 games.
