Atlanta Braves Sign Right-Handed Pitcher

Joining the Atlanta Braves.

The Braves have signed pitcher Tyree Thompson to a minor-league contract.

Thompson has spent the last seven seasons in the Texas Rangers' organization, finally making it to the Triple-A level last season.

However, he finished the season with a brutal 7.13 ERA, 1.98 WHIP, and 18 strikeouts across 17.2 innings of work between High-A Hickory and Triple-A Round Rock.

The twenty-five-year-old is a former 26th-round pick by the Rangers in the 2016 MLB Draft.

The right-hander holds a 4.09 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, with 223 strikeouts across 316.2 innings of work in his minor-league career.

He'll function as organizational relief depth moving forward.
