Arizona Diamondbacks Sign Shortstop

Joining the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Diamondbacks have signed shortstop Kevin Vicuna to a minor-league contract.

After spending seven years in the Toronto Blue Jays' minor-league system, Vicuna joined the Philadelphia Phillies last season, recording a solid .272/.326/.698 triple-slash line, with two home runs, 37 RBIs, nine stolen bases and 37 runs scored over 312 at-bats at Double-A Reading.

The twenty-five-year-old is probably nothing more than extra organizational depth at this point.

For his minor-league career, Vicuna holds a .262/.323/.652 triple-slash line, with seven home runs, 207 RBIs, 89 stolen bases and 308 runs scored across 569 games.
