Texas Rangers Sign Pitcher

The Texas Rangers have made a small move, as they have signed Jacob Barnes to a minor league contract.

Barnes split this past season between the Detroit Tigers and New York Yankees, where he had a 3-1 record and 5.64 ERA in 23 appearances. It is fair to say that he had his struggles in the majors this campaign, but now he will be aiming to change that with the Rangers from here.

For Barnes to receive consideration for a call-up, he will need to impress at Spring Training and then get his contract selected to Texas' 40-man roster. We will need to wait and see if he can do just that from here. At a minimum, he gives the Rangers' depth another veteran pitcher.
