Stunning Announcement From The Los Angeles Angels

The Orange County locals were in celebration mode when it was announced last year that Arte Moreno would be selling the Los Angeles Angels. The team has not been able to make the postseason for eight seasons, despite employing two of the greatest talents the game has ever seen.

The search has been on for months for a new owner to take control of the team.

Alas, Moreno has made a stunning announcement today. He will no longer be selling.

The Angels announced today that "the Moreno Family is ending the exploratory process to sell the team and will continue ownership throughout the 2023 Season and beyond."

"During this process, it became clear that we have unfinished business," read the statement, "and feel we can make a positive impact on the future of the team and the fan experience. This offseason we committed to a franchise record player payroll and still want to accomplish our goal of bringing a World Series Championship back to our fans. We are excited about this next chapter of Angels Baseball...

"Our hearts remain with the Angels, and we are not ready to part ways with the fans, players, and our employees."

In August of last year, the team announced it would begin the process of finding a new ownership group and over the last five months, there were said to be at least six parties considering making an offer. The team was valued by Forbes last March at $2.2 Billion dollars.

Of course, now the talk of what will become of impending free agent Shohei Ohtani will ramp up to new heights.
