Philadelphia Phillies and San Francisco Giants Swap Relievers

The Philadelphia Phillies and the San Francisco Giants continue to make moves.

The Phillies have acquired pitcher Yunior Marte from the Giants for pitcher Erik Miller.

The Giants needed to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for newly-signed reliever Luke Jackson and Marte drew the short straw.

Marte posted a 5.44 ERA, 1.44 WHIP, and 44 strikeouts over 48 innings last season for the Giants. The twenty-seven-year-old right-handed pitcher will give the Phillies some extra relief depth.

The Giants acquire reliever Erik Miller in exchange.

Miller is a former fourth-round pick by the Phillies in the 2019 MLB Draft and was the team's seventh-ranked prospect. Last season, between Double-A and Triple-A, the left-handed pitcher posted a solid 3.54 ERA, 1.45 WHIP, and 62 strikeouts over 48.1 innings.

It's a solid move for the Giants.
